Where Women Create Artist Feature - Nicki Traikos

Earlier this year I did something that terrified me.  One morning, when I had trouble focusing on what I needed to do next in my day, I sat with a cup of coffee in hand, eyeing a magazine that is never far from me. Then bang! something hit me.  I needed to express gratitude.  Something inside me urged me to send an email to the editor of one of my favourite magazines - Where Women Create.  {crazy right?! does that ever happen to you where you have a strong feeling about something then just go with it?!?!}

My intention was to send an email of gratitude for all of the stories and beautiful inspiration that each and every issue promised.

I picked up my very first issue only a few months after venturing off to live my passion of creating art for a living.  It was this magazine that I turned to when I had doubts, struggled with something or needed help to motivate me to keep going.

So I introduced myself.  Shared my heartfelt story and ended the email with a link to my own creative life - life i design.

Feeling energized by this experience I put my head down and got back to work.

Just a few short hours later, I received an email that blew me away!

A reply from the editor herself thanking me for sharing my experience with her and an offer to be a featured artist in an upcoming issue.

With tears streaming down my face faster than my quick fingers could type, I responded and spent the rest of the day freaking out!!!!

What an incredible experience this has been.  I am honoured beyond words to be among such amazing talent and inspiring women.

Here's a sneak peek at a few pages...
